Base II size...

The image on the Base II product page says quite clearly: 11" (28cm) x 10.25" (26cm).

BUT - I just got one and it is quite bigger! It is 12" (305mm) x 11.375" (290mm).
The image also shows it being rather low profile - but this unit has rubber feet it sits on - making it rather deeper (35mm).

Changing Global MIDI Channel on CNTRL:R?

$

I've spent the better part of an hour attempting to change the global MIDI channe with both the standalone and online editors l on this CNTRL:R I snagged on CraigsList to no avail.  My FCB1010 uses Channel 1, and reprogramming that thing is a nightmare.  I'd prefer to assign the Global MIDI Channel of the CNTRL:R to Ch. 5 because none of my current controllers use Ch. 5.  I would think this is a simple adjustment, on my AKAI MPD32 I was able to accomplish this in under 10 seconds.

Anyone have any insight?

I appreciate the help, and apologize if I'm overlooking something simple.

thanks!

Guitar Wing Uncomfortable

Hi All,

Now that I've got a working unit, and I've been playing with it a while, I've come to like it a lot except for one thing: it's totally uncomfortable to use! Is it just me? That black box digs into my gut. It's huge. Too bad it couldn't have been made thinner and wider, instead of bulky with sharp corners. I read all the documentation and I have it correctly adjusted.

Advanced bank settings on Ohm RGB

I'm using the Ohm RGB. I'm wondering if there's a way to assign some buttons and sliders to a fixed bank, while switching through MIDI banks/channels for other buttons. For the button grid I want to be able to switch between banks/channels to trigger different instruments/effects. But when I do so, I want the buttons in the upper right corner and the sliders to remain on the same channel. I use them to start/stop the song, loop sections, ... in Renoise. But when I switch banks/channels these mappings are not triggered, since they are mapped to a fixed channel. There's no workaround in Renoise for this. Is there a way to do this in the (online) editor? Thanks for reading.

DS1 Won't turn on or be recognized by Ableton

Hey guys,
I have previously had this working and I was able to map perimeters of ableton inside a project I was working on. I would prefer to map myself rather then auto.
Upon plugging in my DS1 into usb it will not show any sign of connection (lights or recognition by ableton).
I've tried several usb cables to and that isn't the issue.
I've tried having plugged in when turning ableton on and having plugged in and not plugged in turning my computer on.
Some help would be great.
Thanks in advanced.

Ohm RGB pad toggle mode feedback

Hi,

The question is about Ohm RGB controller.

I don't own the said controller but looking into getting one. My question is, when I put a pad in toggle mode, can I switch it on and off externally? So, say I put a pad in toggle mode and press it. It is now in ON state and lit. Can I then send a MIDI message TO that pad with velocity 0 to switch it off? I know I can do whatever I want with Ohm's lights, but what about the toggle state?

On a side note, are Ohm RGB and Ohm RGB Slim completely the same functionality-wise? Would the answer to this question be the same for both controllers?

Thanks,

Ivan

DS1 - Toggle LED colours in Ableton??

Hi there, my DS1 just arrived and I love it.

I'm trying to do some editing of the LED colours  but I'm a bit out of my depth and would really appreciate some pointers.

I'm using the bottom row of buttons to represent the on/off switch for each channel in Ableton Live.  I just want the LEDs in Ableton to toggle when I press them- Green when the channel is on, red when its switched off.  I've gone to the Livid online midi editor but I don't really know where to start. Any help would be much appreciated.

OhmRGB and sending Song Select message to a Squarp Pyramid sequencer

$

I just purchased a OhmRGB Slim controller and it is on it's way.  Hoping to use it for something I can't find a reference to on the howto/wiki/forums.

Can a button be programmed to send a Song Select message?  I've poured through the documentation, and even tried to load the online editor, but it doesn't appear to want to load without the hardware!

I have a Squarp Pyramid MIDI/CV sequencer and they have just released a limited MIDI spec.  A project (song) on the Pyramid consists of 16 sequences (they are going to expand to at least 32 sequences).  Each sequence consists of mute states of 64 tracks.

My idea is to use one bank on the OhmRGB to setup buttons for each sequence, which can be sent to the Pyramid via a Song Select message.  So I want 16 buttons, one for each Song Select message.

Once I have selected the sequence, I will switch to another bank on the OhmRGB, where each of the 64 tracks will be represented by a button that sends CC 1 to 64 to select the track on the Pyramid.  I will just program the transport and anything else to be identical on each bank.

This is all a bit theoretical at this point, and may be an expensive experiment.  I had considered an APC40 MkII or Launchpad Pro, but the program-ability and class compliance of the OhmRGB made this a better fit.  Worse case scenario I can use Bome MIDI Translator to convert the OhmRGB messages to what I need, but I was hoping I could program this on the board itself.

Does this sound feasible?

cntrl r toggle for buttons

Hi!

How can I setup a "toggle" for the buttons on my cntrl r?

In the editor I can`t find a "toggle" function. My goal: Clicking one time:on a button a midi-parameter gets switched to "on". Clicking again: It will be set to "off". I want to use it as a midi-controller for 3rd Party plugin with "midi learn" function.

thanks!

Controlling MPC and Elektron Machines with OHM RGB

$

Hello everyone,

I recently purchased an OHM RGB off of ebay in order to create, what I thought would be my dream controller for a live PA setup. Unfortunately the dream has turned into a nightmare. I have 3 machines I'm wanting to control with the OHM RGB, an Akai MPC 2500, an Elektron Octatrack and an Elektron Analog 4.

The setup was supposed to be like so:
OHM RGB -> MPC input 2 -> and then from the MPC to Ocatrack via midi out 1 of MPC and Analog 4 via midi out 2 of MPC.

That said I can't even trigger track mutes from the OHM RGB to the MPC. I am trying to use the 64 "clip bank" buttons in the center to to trigger track muting and unmuting on the mpc. The MPC does have an area were I can assign a Midi note to a pad in order to mute it, but when I press "clip bank" buttons on the OHM RGB they always seems to trigger the same note on the MPC, C_0... Also some buttons send Bend signals to the MPC.

How can I properly program this thing so that it sends a specific note per pad? or is the MPC not capable of recognizing this, it seems like it should.

DS1 Firmware v1.19 and Editor Feature Update - BETA

Hi Everybody!

We've been working a lot with the DS1, adding some requested features, and improving our integration with Hardware Devices and softwares that aren't so MIDI saavy as Ableton Live or Bitwig.

We've also created a new stand-alone editor for the DS1 that works on Windows, Mac, and Ubuntu systems.
This update is in beta, mainly because it is a huge update, but also due to lack of documentation, and to give us more time to thoroughly test backward compatibility of this firmware update for the DS1.

4 Terminal Fader Wiring Help (Easy)

Hello

Ive got a potentiometer question...  I purchased this  Peavey, 10KA, 100mm, Slide potentiometer  from amazon

Im wondering if yall can assist in showing me how to wire it up to the Brain V2

Usually on these fader thingies there are 3 or 6 solder lugs on it, room for a '#', '-', and '+' connection.  This one has 4 solder lugs!
I searched around online, couldnt find the exact schematic, and even methodically and exhaustively tried different wiring combos.

Did I get the wrong thing? Can a 4 terminal fader be connected to the Brain V2?

Much appreciation to you who solves this simple puzzle . image

Code Renegade Not powering

Hei!

My code is not powering up with the USB DC adapter...

I am using a regular 5V dc adapter, with 900mA of output...

Pressing the Renegade button while powering up, Leds blink fast as i connect the outlet. If I insist it actually powers up, which is not reliable in a live enviroment.
Any way to solve this? :(

CNTRL:R HELP - Sending Continuous MIDI Data Error

I just picked up a CNTRL:R in Japan and after plugging it into the online editor I noticed it was sending a continuous midi signal.  I took a screen capture and pasted it below.  Also plugging it into live the master volume control in Live was behaving erratically.

http://postimg.org/image/5qbs8uvt3/

Using Midi Monitor I got this result:
23:13:40.062 From Controls Control 1 Channel Volume (fine) 0
23:13:40.082 From Controls Control 1 Modulation Wheel (fine) 0
23:13:40.083 From Controls Control 1 Breath Control (fine) 0
23:13:40.129 From Controls Control 1 Portamento Time (fine) 1
23:13:40.130 From Controls Control 1 Data Entry (fine) 2

The firmware is the latest version.
I am running OSX version 10.9.5

Could you advise on how to solve this issue?

Thanks!

Using two ds1 controllers at the same time in Bitwig possible?

$

I can't seem to work out how to use two ds1 controllers at the same time in Bitwig. When I go to add the second one as a standard midi controller I can see two ds1 in the "Midi input port" list but as they are both listed with the same name Bitwig gets confused an only lets you use one of them. Is it the controller script that defines the name of the controller in the "Midi input port" list or is it tied to the hardware. I don't think it's the script because the ds1 turns up in that list before any of the Livid scripts are loaded... hmm

Note this is using Bitwig in Win10... might be different on other platforms. Might load up the old iMac to check see if it's any different on there.

Also I think it's the same problem with my two Brain-v2s :(

Maybe it's punishment for being so greedy!

BASE 2 USB: is it "class compliant"

I can't find any info with this small detail - I'm trying to have the BASE 2 MIDI sent over a 5pin DIN plug, instead of the USB.  I can find adapters to do so, but they require that the device (BASE2) be 'class compliant"
Well, is it?

Brain / Brain Jr. Faders, Encoders, Pot Values

$

Hey All-

Since I have so many different kinds of pots and faders and a few encoders, and since Livid is SOLD OUT of their own Pots, I was wondering if anyone knew the proper ohm values for wiring up pots (especially) EDIT: WIKI SAYS BETWEEN 10K-100K OHM FOR POTS. I'D ASSUME THE SAME FOR SLIDE POTS (Faders) AND ENCODERS. TRUE?, and faders, and encoders to the Brain and Brain Jr.

I have a Livid Elements with a Brain v2 in it that has some open spots and I am going to put a stereo 1/4" jack in it and wire it to the analog section for an expression pedal.

The Brian Jr. is going to be a sort of "catch all" for controls I want in addition to ones I have with my Livid CNTRL:R, Launchpad, and other MIDI controllers. Just a box with:

3 LED lit Arcade style buttons I'll map for specific mutes
3 non lit arcade style buttons for triggering controls within looper in Ableton
5 different pots to control FX on my MX-1
2 stereo 1/4" jacks for expression pedals
2 mono 1/4" jacks for momentary pedals - I'm going to attempt to "play" a kick drum this way. (anyone know if I just wire this to the "buttons" section, as I assume- or if it's done another way?

Thanks.
